English Curry Awards 2024

Lalbagh

Introduction

Lalbagh is a family affair, founded by brothers Miftaur and Mumitur Choudhury on November 2008. Over a decade later. Lalbagh has built up an enviable reputation and has cemented its reputation as a high-class establishment for the best in Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine.

Located in the beautiful village of Bourn, Cambridge. The former pub has been fully refurbished in a contemporary style to provide the finest atmosphere of any Indian restaurant in Cambridge and surrounding.

It’s fair to say that Lal Bagh is a thriving spot for locals and visitors alike. What sets the restaurant apart from the rest, is it’s exceptional attention to detail and the clear passion the brothers have for their restaurant.

Miftaur and Mumitur are very proud owners and have won many accolades, the restaurant continues to go from strength to strength.

OUR STORY

Lalbagh was a former pub, the building had been closed for around a vear before being discovered by the brothers. Miftaur and Mu-mitur could see the potential it had. The building was gutted and a new kitchen, stylish décor and chic furniture completed the restaurant’s modern look. The successful chef puts Lalbagh’s achievements down to three factors: good quality food, excellent service and a welcoming ambience.
Miftaur has fine-tuned every dish at Lalbagh to perfection, the menu features an impressive selection of speciality dishes including Lalbagh favourites butternut beef and rhubarb seabass.

Miftaur is passionate about delivering the highest quality food and even grows his own vegetables in the Lalbagh garden. Lucky customers, friends and family are also treated from time to time with freshly made Indian sweets.

Charity

Lalbagh recently hosted a charity dinner event featuring a delectable three-course meal in support of the Tafida Raqeeb Foundation. The event aimed to aid TRF’s mission of providing essential healthcare to those in need, bringing the community together for a meaningful cause.

The MNM Family Foundation is our charitable organisation dedicated to aiding those facing poverty and hardship in our home village in Bangladesh. Our efforts are supported by our family, friends, and proceeds from our restaurant.
